Wisconsin Tamil Sangam (WITS) is a 501C (3) registered Non-Profit Organization with mission to preserve and nurture Tamil language, culture, and arts in Wisconsin. Tamil is one of the key languages spoken by people in South India. In Wisconsin, there is an estimated number of over 8000 Tamil speaking people in the state of Wisconsin, including 1500+ Tamils living in Madison. Tamil immigrants hold significant titles in Government, research, and private institutions, including the UW, and have established art schools that serve the entire community by teaching ancient Tamil music and dance artforms.
WI Tamil Sangam was started in 2002 in Madison Wisconsin and has been serving the community for the past 19 years.
